Airways - The city is well connected by air and road. Biratnagar Airport is the regional hub for vital air services serving the Eastern part of the country. It has an airport which is connected to Kathmandu and some other cities of Nepal. Fly time from Kathmandu to Biratnagar is nearly 45 minutes. Biratnagar Airport is one of the busiest airports in Nepal with most flights to Kathmandu.
Railway - And it is even close to Jogbani Railway station in India which is connected to important Indian cities. The networks of roads are well connected. Travel to and from India by trains from Jogbani railway station, just across the border in India. Direct trains to Kolkata and the Indian capital New Delhi from Jogbani is available daily. Survey for extension of the railway from Jogbani to Biratnagar is expected to be completed soon.
Roadways - Biratnagar is linked with Kathmandu by Road and Air. By car it takes nearly 6-7 hours. By bus from Kathmandu it is 8 hours. The major mode of transport to the city is road transport.
