Day – 01 – Arrival and Transfer to Gangtok - Our representative will be there to receive Guest at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction) – He will be assisting for the transfer to Gangtok – Gangtok the capital of Sikkim Suits all from tranquility to adventure, land of monastery, mystic rituals & festivals at an height of 1670 meters / 5480 feet and is the most visited spot of India - It is one of the most beautiful towns with varieties of Rhododendron, Orchids and butterflies - Nearly 135 kilometres 3 ½ - 4 hours drive – Check into hotel – Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping centre - Over Night stay at Gangtok
Day - 02 – Transfer to Lachen from Gangtok - Early morning breakfast – Drive is approximately135 kilometers and is 05 – 06 hours drive - Chungthang is 96 kilometers from Gangtok – Lunch at Chungthang - Lachen is 35 kilometers from Chungthang Reach Lachen late afternoon / early evening - The snow-capped peaks, the Shingbha wildlife sanctuary, Gurudongmar Lake, Chopta Valley, Thangu are a major attraction - It’s a valley surrounded by gigantic and humbling snow peak mountains and the starting point of Green Lake Trek - In fact the village cradled between stern, tall rock faces standing like guards - A hamlet with very few people - It almost like this town is hidden from the outside - Like a Shangri - La - Check into a hotel - Welcome Tea – Evening free to stroll and visit the Lepcha Village - Overnight stay at Hotel in Lachen
Day - 03 - Excursion to Gurudongmar Lake and Transfer to Lachung - Early morning breakfast – Visit Gurudongmar Lake 55 kilometers and is nearly 03½ - 04½ hour’s drive - A valley at an altitude of 11, 800 feet through which Lachen Chu flows, generally covered with snow from December to April or even more is known as the Holy / Sacred Lake - Next drive through the cold desert till Tibet / China back to Resort for Lunch - After lunch drive to Lachung - The region is fully covered with Rhododendron forest with Chopta Valley and Thangu are the other places of interest - Back to hotel for lunch - After lunch proceed to Lachung - Nearly 50 kilometers and two hours’ drive - Check into the hotel at Lachung - Evening free to visit Lachung Monastery - Overnight stay at Hotel at Lachung
Please Note: There are a few places on the way or is nearby namely Chopta Valley, Zero Point Or Yumesamdong, Lachen & Lachung Monastery, Kala Patthar, Katao, Hot water Spring and are generally not included in the standard north Sikkim Package. If interested one can visit those points-paying Drivers on the spot INR 2500 - INR 3500 per vehicle. But it is done generally in Summer to view snow.
Day – 04 – SightSeeing at Yumthang - Early morning breakfast - After breakfast drive towards Yumthang situated at an elevation of nearly 11800 feet – 26 kilometers and 01½ hour’s drive - On the way back one can visit the famous hot spring which is known for its curative properties of skin diseases - Yumthang is a valley near the river Lachung Chu surrounded by mountains where the tree line ends - In spring the valley erupts in riots of colors as Primula, Rhododendrons and many other Alpine flowers in full bloom along with snow-covered valley except in autumn - [During Summer: Zero Point is Optional] During winter Yumthang is somber with snow all around and the snow-clad mountains adding to the beauty - Return to Lachung - Evening free to stroll up to Lachung Monastery and the Lepcha village - Night halt at Lachung
Day – 05 – Lachung Sight Seeing (optional) and Transfer to Gangtok – Early morning breakfast - After breakfast leave for Yumeysomdong or Katao as per the program or drive to Gangtok after breakfast - Yumesamdong is a large valley surrounded by mountains and Katao is a snow-clad peak close to Lachung - The scenic beauty of both are nice – Return journey to Gangtok is 125 kilometers and is 05 – 06 hours - Lunch on the way - If the weather is good and the sky is clear one can get to see the Himalayan range - The location on the way offers a majestic view of Mount Pandim, mount Kabru, mount Simvo, mount Jopuno, mount Kanchendzonga, mount Sinolchu, and other peaks and the roadside is wooded Rhododendron forest generally blooms during spring - Back to Gangtok - Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center - Over Night stay at Gangtok
Day - 06 - Departure to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) - Drive to Siliguri, on the way to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) (It is approximately 130 kilometers and is nearly 04 - 04½ hours drive) - Morning breakfast - After breakfast transfer to It’s a four to five hours drive - Scenic beauty - The drive will be along the River Teesta - Stoppage at Rangpo or Melli or Chitrey for Refreshment - Next stop at Coronation bridge for photography if time permits – Drive to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) /Siliguri - Guest are advised to start early and not to rush - Forwarding Journey
Half Day include Banzakhri Falls, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, Flower show, Dro-dul Chorten & Institute of Tibetology. (Timing : 09.00 hrs to 13.00 hrs) Full Day include Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok & Hanuman Tok, Ranka Monastery, Banjakhri Falls, Cottage Industry, Dro-dul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Flower show and Handicraft Centre.
