Day - 01 - Arrival at Guwahati - Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) / Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) and Transfer to Shillong - Guest will be received by our representative and assist in boarding the vehicle for forwarding journey to Shillong - It is a drive of nearly 3 ½ hours - 04 hours drive ovber a distance of approximately 135 kilometres - On the way visit Umium Lake - Umiam Lake is a reservoir located in the hills 15 kilometres from Shillong in the state of Meghalaya, India - It is spread over 220 square kilometres - Next drive to Shillong - The rolling hills around the town reminded the European settlers of Scotland - Hence known as the "Scotland of the East - Check in Hotel - Evening free to stroll around the area / Police Bazaar - Overnight in Shillong
Day - 02 - Excursion to Cherrapunjee - Early morning breakfast - Next one has to drive for slightly over two hours a distance of approximately 60 kilometres - Sohra, previously known as Cherrapunjee, a sub-division in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya is set upon a picturesque plateau on the southern slopes of the state - Sohra is dotted with waterfalls cascading over deep gorges. The swift flowing rivers and streams flow in a southernly direction to the plains - Other attractions are Caves & view of Bangladesh (Neighbouring country) - Visit Dwan Syiem view point, Noh kalikai falls, Mawsmai caves, Seven Sister falls, Eco park etc - Later drive back to Shillong - On the way visit to Shillong Peak & Elephant Falls - In the evening, one can go for shopping at Police Bazar - Overnight in Shillong
Day - 03 - Excursion to Mwallynnong – Early morning breakfast - Excursion to Mwallynnong - Next one has to drive for slightly over 2 ½ - 3 hours a distance of approximately 90 kilometres - Mawlynnong nestled in the pristine hill state of Meghalaya, is along the Indo-Bangla border - This nice and colourful little village is known for its cleanliness - The village offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock - Residential facilities are still scarce and are in the process of being developed, the existing one constructed from bamboo and thatch is quite hospitable - It is an artist's delight and would titillate creative writers and poets - Drive back to Shillong - Evening visit Local markets - Over night in Shillong
Day - 04 -Shillong Local Sightseeing - Early morning breakfast - Next start the local sightseeing - The places of interest includes The city’s own Ward’s Lake is popular for short garden walks & boating - The Botanical Garden offers plethora of indigenous and exotic plants & rare collection of orchids - Lady Hydari Park is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with streaches of roses & exquisite flowers - One of the largest Golf courses in Asia is an 18 hole Golf Course is charted amidst a surging valley full of thick pine groves & rhododendron trees - Spend the evening in the splendid arena - The State Museum is a display of the lifestyle and heritage of the people of Meghalaya - Shillong and its surrounding is dotted with splendid waterfalls cascading down deep valleys forming misty sparks as they break the silence of the surroundings - Elephant Falls is a mountain stream gorging down two successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks - For the Bird’s eye view of Shillong, one can take a stand at Shillong Peak - Evening free to stroll around the local discotheque / Police Bazaar - Overnight in Shillong
