Lho Khando Sang Pho - There are four famous caves of Sikkim each facing one of the geographical directions of East, West, North and South. Lho Khando Sang Pho is one of the four famous caves in Sikkim, where Guru Rempoche the 8th century great Indian Buddhist Tantric yogi meditated. The three other caves are Nub Dechenphu, Chyang Lhari Ngingphu and Sharcho Phephu. It is believed that in this cave Guru Rempoche tamed a female demon. This cave has great religious value and is often visited by tourist. It is an important Bhuddhist pilgrimage. Situated in front of the cave is the hot water spring popularly known as the Phur cha chu. Many a prople stay on the banks of the river bed for a fortnight or more. Few spend a full month enjoying staying with their family at the river banks and with the gathering of pilgrims, the places develops small make shift eateries. Even shops and huts are available on rent especially during winter season. Sikkim government is trying to develop the site with more tourist amenities.
