Monsong, Sillery, Damsangguri
These places are offbeat and is worth visiting and trekking, fishing, adventure camping, sight seeing and farm activities make up the regular itinerary.These are ideal places for weekend breaks; to rejuvenate the spirits fagged down by regular drudgery. Monsong is basically a resting place with less than twenty huts and a guest house and a home stay. It is situated on the route of Rongpo to Kalimpong via Monsong from where entire region of Teesta Valley and the Himalayan range is visible. It was known earlier for the Cinchona Plantation. One can view the winding river Teesta. A village resort is located in Munsong situated at a distance of 20 Kilometres from Kalimpong. Sillery is a rural village of only a few families in the middle of the forest stretch with no electricity. A home stay has been developed here and the best combination is Sillery and Pedong one can also use Charkhole. Damdsanguri is close to Damsang Fort which is a historical venue dating to 1690. One can take close look of Damsang Fort and situated in a lovely wooded area of Rhododendrons, native trees and shrubs. An ancient Bhutanese monastery use to be here.
