North East Tours :

Neighbouring States or the seven sister states of North East Himalayan region are Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Assam Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura and the eighth state of Sikkim are all situated in the Himalayan region of North east India. Siliguri serves as the gateway to the North East. Well connected by flight, train, buses and taxis / vehicles linking these states the region. The states are as follows 

Arunachal Pradesh literally means "land of the dawn lit mountains" in Sanskrit. It is also known as "land of the rising sun” due to its position. Places of Interest are Kameng, Subansiri, Siang, Bomdilla, Tawang,  Dibang, Itanagar, Daparjio, Ziro, Along, Tezu, Pasighat, Sela Pass, Tawang Monastery, Bhalukpong, Banggangjang Lake, Namdhaka Wild life Sanctuary, etc. Assam is one of the richest biodiversity zones in the world and consists of tropical rainforests, deciduous forests, riverine grasslands, and numerous wetlands. Places of Interest are Kaziranga,  Manas and Nameri National Park, Majuli, Jorhat, Majuli, Sibsagar, Sualkuchi, Sarthebari, Digboi, Haflong, Jatinga, Kamakhya Temple, etc . Manipur is the home of rare species of Flora and Fauna with exotic scenery of fertile plains surrounded by green hills. Places of Interest are Churachandpur, Imphal, Moirang, Andro, Keibul Lamjao National Park, Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Moreh, Bishnupur, Dimapur, Bishnupur, War Cemetery, Loktak lake, Sendra Island, Keibul Lamjao National Park,INA Memorial, etc. Meghalaya is the "Abode of the Clouds”. People of Meghalaya are cheerful, hospitable, peaceful and social; it is reflected in their music, dance and sports. Places of interest are Cherrapunjee, Dawki, Umiam Lake, Thangkharang Park, Eco - park, Botanical Garden, Lady Hydari Park, Shadthum Falls, Weinia falls, Bishop Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Langshiang falls, Sweet Falls, hot springs at Jakrem. Places of interest are Shillong, Jowai, Tura, Sohra, Mawryngkneng, Umling, Ranikor, Mawsynram, Mairang, Dawki, etc. Mizoram has its scenic landscape, monuments and memorials connected with legends and folklore. Its capital town of Aizwal is perched on a ridge and surrounded by mountains and the green valleys of Tlawng and Tuirial rivers. Sanctuary / National Parks in Mizoram are Dampa Tiger reserve, Murlen, Blue Mountain, Ngenpui, Khawnglung, Tawi, Thorangtlang and Lengteng.  Places of interest are Aizwal, Khima, Champai, Vantawang Water Fall Travel, Phawngpui, Thenzawl, Phawngpui, Lunglei, Khawiva, Zobawk, Saiha, etc. Nagaland is a hill state located in the extreme end of north - eastern part of India. It borders the state of Assam to the west, Arunachal Pradesh and part of Assam to the north, Myanmar to the east and Manipur to the south. The Hornbill festival is an international event here.  There are wild life sanctuaries and national parks, namely, Intanki and Puliebadze, Fakim and Rangapahar. Places of interest are Kohima, Intangki Wildlife Sanctuary, Dimapur, Dzukou Valley, Mokokchung, Mon, Phek, Tuensang, Wokha, etc. Tripura has 85% of its perimeter is international border with rest is common boundary with Assam and Mizoram. The state  offers plenty of attractions for the tourists like Ujjayanta  Palace and  Kunjaban  Palace at  Agartala  and Neermahal - Lake Palace at Melaghar,  splendid rock-cut carvings and stone images at Unakoti near Kailashahar,  Debtamura  near  Amarpur and  Pilak in Belonia,  temples of   Hindus and  Buddhists  like Mata Tripureswari temple at   Udaipur,   vast    natural  as   well  as  artificial lakes like Dumboor lake in Gandacherra, Rudrasagar, Amarsagar, Jagannath  Dighi,   Kalyan  Sagar,   Udaipur,  Jampui   hill , wild  life  sanctuaries  at  Sepahijala, Gumti,  Rowa,  Trishna, etc. Sikkim - Sikkim is the only state in India with an ethnic Nepali majority and 11 official languages i.e. Nepali, Bhutia, Lepcha, Limbu, Newari, Rai, Gurung, Magar, Sherpa, Tamang and Sunwar. English is used in government documents. Gangtok, Pelling, Yuksom, Ravangla, Lachung, Lachen, Namchi, Aritar, Varshey, Uttarey, Mangan, Rumtek, Zuluk, etc are the main places of interest. Hot water Spring, High altitude lake, Caves, Monastery, Butterflies, Orchids are the main attractions. Goechala trek and Green lake trek is internationally known and so are many a adventure trek route and activities in this region.

In most of the places near international boundary Inner Line Permit is required for example in North Sikkim or Arunachal Pradesh etc. Inner Line Permit or popularly known as the ILP is required in many of the international bordering states i.e. The states which shares its boundary with The Republic of China, etc and the identity card required are any one of the following i.e. Voter Identity Card / Driving License / Pan card / Ration card / School / college Identity Card with Photo for those who are less than 18 Years / Marriage Certificate / Bank passbook with photo attested and Passport Size Colour Photograph (4 Numbers). ID card is required for identification of Indian citizenship and it takes time to have the permit issued. Documents deposited on arrival is always appreciated
