Day - 01 – Arrival New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) / Siliguri and Transfer to Phuentsholing - On arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) / Siliguri – Guest will be received by our executive who will be waiting just outside of the airport or railway station – He will assist guest to board the vehicle to proceed for Phuentsholling – The drive is of 165 kilometres i.e. 4 to 4 ½ hour’s drive through the lush green Tea Estate of Duars - On arrival at Phuentsholing – Check into hotel - The border of India & Bhutan, the Indian side is known as Jaigaon and the Bhutan part is called Phuentsholing - Situated at an altitude of nearly 980 feet is a small settlement – Night stay at Hotel at either Phuentsholing or Jaigaon
Day – 02 – Permit to be obtained and Transfer to Thimpu (2350 meters / 7710 feet) - The drive is 172 kilometres and is 05½ - 06 hours drive – Early morning breakfast – Obtain permit with assistance from our representative - Proceed for Thimpu – The drive is beautiful, and one can see some waterfalls along the way – Thimpu is a charming city, probably the smallest capital in the world, resting in the heart of the Himalayas - Thimphu combines a natural small-town feel with a new commercial exuberance that constantly challenges the country's natural conservatism and Shangri La image - The juxtapositions of old and new remain part of Thimpu's charm - Crimson-robed monks, government ministers clad in traditional dress and camera-wielding tourists all share pavements lined with shops selling SIM cards and Buddhist accessories - It is situated in the western central part of Bhutan – It is a lively place, interesting combination of tradition and modernity - Thimpu is situated at an elevation of 2350 meters / 7710 feet - Reach Thimpu - Check into your hotel on arrival - Overnight stay at hotel in Thimphu
Day – 03 – Thimpu Local Sightseeing – Early morning breakfast - Visit to the National Memorial Chorten built in honour of our late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk and the Dupthop Lhakhang – One can visit the National Library, stocked with ancient Buddhist manuscripts, and the Painting School where traditional art is still kept alive through instructions in the art of painting Thangkas - After lunch visit Traditional Medicine Institute and to Lungtenzampa - Visit to the Tashichho Dzong, seat of the national government and the Central Monastic Body, including the summer residence of the Je Khenpo - The Tashichho Dzong is open to visitors only in winter when the Je Khenpo and the monks move to Punakha the ancient winter capital of Bhutan - Drive to Simtokha Dzong and visit the Handicrafts emporium followed by shopping for souvenirs - Over night stay in Thimphu
Day - 04 - Dochula sightseeing & Transfer to Wangdue Phodrang - After Breakfast transfer to Punakha - Morning drive to Dochula pass (3080 meters) that heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan - Later drive to Punakha, Wangdue visit Punakha dzong built strategically at the junction of pho chu & mo chu river in 1963 - Excursion to Punakha - It is approximately 90 kilometres and is nearly 03 hours from Thimphu - Punakha is the administrative centre of Punakha dzongkhag, districts of Bhutan - Punakha was the capital of Bhutan - It Has a population of 25,700 - Wangdue Phodrang is a town and capital (dzongkhag thromde) of Wangdue Phodrang District in central Bhutan - It Has a Population Of 34,300 - Enroute Visit 1) Dochu la Pass, 2) Druk Wangyal Lhakhang, 3) Punakha Dzong 4) Wangdue Phodrang, 5) Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten -Evening free in fascinating Punakha valley - Overnight at hotel in Wangdue Phodrong
Day - 05 – Transfer from Wangdue Phodrong to Bumthang via Trongsa - Morning drive to Trongsa across Dochula pass (3080 meters) that heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan - Then process further across 3300 meters pelrla pass and visit Chendbji Chorten en route - Afternoon visit Trongsa Dzong, the ancestral abode of Bhutan’s Royal family - Stop at Trongsa for lunch and visit its huge white Trongsa Dzong with a distinctive yellow roof - After that continue your adventure to Bumthang after crossing the Yotong La Pass - Bumthang is a district in the north-central region of Bhutan and due to the great number of temples and sacred sites, it is often referred to as the spiritual heartland of the country - Bumthang valley consists of Ura, Chumey, Tang and Choekhor valleys - Stay overnight in BumthangOvernight at hotel in Trongsa
Day - 06 - Bumthang is justifiably regarded as Bhutan's cultural heartland where the landscape is dotted with palaces, ancient temples and monasteries - We will take the whole day to explore the Bumthang valley by visiting the grand Kurje Lhakhang, Jambey Lhakang, Tamshing Lhakhang and Jakar Dzong, the administrative center of Bumthang - After that we lead you to stroll in the village and have a close contact with the local people and visit a local handicraft shop - In the afternoon, do a short hike to the Lhodrak Kharchhu Monastery, a remarkable Tibetan Buddhist monastery - Night stay at Bumathang - Morning drives to Bumthang across the Yutongla pass (3400 meters) - The enchanting valley of Bumthang is also the religious heartland of Bhutan - Afternoon visit to Jakar Dzong, Jambay Lhakhang, Kurje Lhakhang and Tamshing Lhakhang - Overnight at hotel Bumathang
Day - 07 - Transfer from Bumthang to Punakha - It is approximately 200 kilometres and is nearly 07 hours drive by road - This morning we take a short time to stroll around the town and later start for a long drive to Punakha - This is a scenic drive, passing many small villages, waterfalls with spectacular landscape, crossing Black mountains, the ever-changing vegetation and finally arriving in the warm valley of Punakha. As the valley is at a lower elevation of about 1250 meters / 4100 feet above sea level, it enjoys subtropical climate with warm summers and pleasant winters - After a short rest at the hotel, we guide you to today's highlight - Punakha Dzong. It is a very beautiful Bhutanese architecture located at the confluence of Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers - Night Stay at Punakha
Day - 08 - Transfer from Punakha to Paro - It is approximately 125 kilometres and is nearly 04 hours drive by road - After a short drive from Punakha, we start a leisure walk through paddy fields and villages and arrive at a hillock where the Chimi Lakhang is situated - This Lakhang is dedicated to a popular saint Drukpa Kuenley, also known as divine Madman - After that, we continue driving to Paro via Dochula Pass - En route, you will visit the Simtokha Dzong - After hotel check-in, you can pay a visit to Ta Dzong, an ancient watch tower housing the National Museum and descend for a while to the Paro Dzong, also named Rinphung Dzong -The small and charming town of Paro lies in the center of the valley at an average elevation of 2280 meters on the bank of Pa Chhu River - Evening free to stroll around the market - Night stay at Paro
Day – 09 - Excursion to Chele La pass (3988 meters / 13084 feet) - Chele la (Pass) is situated at an elevation 3988 meters is considered to be one of the highest motor able passes in Bhutan – It is nearly 35 kilometres and about an hour later from Paro - About an hour's drive along a thickly - forested road is a botanical paradise - The pass provides stunning views of the sacred mountain Jomolhari and Jichu Drake - Made all the more mysterious and beautiful with its abundance of prayer flags - Guest can witness the cascades of wild roses; purple and yellow primulas; and swathes of deep blue iris covering the forest floor – Back to resort - Guest may spend the day by shopping or simply walking through the town or relax – Overnight stay in hotel / resort in Paro
