SamtharValley - Situated at an altitude of around 1400 meters this plateau is nearly 80 kilometres from Kalimpong. It is also approachable from Lava and is approximately 42 kilometres. The place has breathtaking views of the snowy peaks of the Himalayan range, nice sunrise and sunset, sleepy hamlets, exotic flora, mountain streams and wildlife. Samthar Valley is one such valley not among the regular tourist spot but an offbeat site for leisure and Honeymoon couple. Popular tourist spots like nearby are Ralei Khola, Samthar Valley, Lava, Lolaygaon, Rikkissum, Reshi Khola, Pedong, Neora Valley, Mong Song and Rishyap are situated within this subdivision. These beautiful locations are all well connected by roads and are ideal for leisure holidays. The valley surrounded by the conifer forests under the warm glow of sun with birds and colorful flora everywhere will impress nature lover. The whole surrounding or setting will enthrall you to a new dimension. The other valleys of the region are Charkhole and Chukhim. Charkhole is half an hour’s drive through rough terrain Lolegaon and chukhim is further downward nearly 1 ½ hours drive.
