Day- 01
Arrival & transfer to Tinchuley - On arrival guests will be representative will receive guests and assist them for forward journey to Tinchuley -- It is approximately 75 kilometers and is 02½ - 03 hours drive by National Highway 10 - Tinchuley is a hill station and sub-divisional town in the Darjeeling district of the Indian state of West Bengal - A small mountain village (rather a hamlet) near Darjeeling town and is located at an altitude of 5,800 feet and just 03 kilometres above Takdah - It is a birdwatchers paradise and offers sunrise views - The word Tinchuley means Three Ovens (i.e. Tin Chullahs) - And such name to the village has been given because of the three prominent hilltops that surround the place and which from far look like ovens or chullahs - Tinchuley faces the Kalimpong hills and is on the leeward side of mountain hence colder - Guests can enjoy village trails, nature hikes and tea garden visits during their stay - Its an eco-friendly destination with tea Gardens, Orange Orchard, and view of mount Kanchenjunga makes it one of the key destinations in village tourism - In fact the organization WWF (World Wide Federation) has been actively assisting some 17 families here to develop a model organic village and promote village tourism - Evening free to stroll around the area - Overnight stay at Tinchuley
Day- 02
Tinchuley Local Sightseeing - Early morning options are a walk for about 20 minutes through forest of ferns and reach Gumbadara, another great viewpoint from where you see the river Rangeet and a part of Sikkim - The large rocks here have historical significance - They are great training grounds for rock climbers - Next back to Homestay or hotel for breakfast and start the sightseeing tour Guests can also take a leisure stroll to the Orange Garden or a nearby tea garden / estate - One can also go for a day trip to Darjeeling city for a full day sightseeing - There are also several caves here which Guests can explore - Visit the lovely Orange Orchards of Nirmal's nearly 08 kilometres drive from Tinchuley - One family-owned property also has a factory producing fresh orange juice, marmalades and pickles which you can buy at reasonable prices - Guests can also visit the Tinchuley Monastery - Here a Lama had meditated for 17 long years - Guests can see the long line of prayer wheels on the outside of the wall - Evening free to stroll around the area and visit the nursery or one can spend the time in village market - Overnight stay at Tinchuley Or Takdah
Day- 03
Sightseeing around Tinchuley - Early morning one can walk down to watch the magnificent sunrise from Tinchuley View Point and see how the snow peaks of Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan peaks sparkle as the daylight breaks - There are six tea gardens within short distances where you can experience the garden life, watch tea plucking, visit the factory and see tea processing - The nearest tea estate is the well known Rungli Rungliot known for its Tea Tourism - Another one is Peshoke Tea Estate - Walk through the lovely nature trails, trek and explore the nearby villages - You can visit all attractions that I have described under Takdah as well - Tinchuley is only 03 kilometers from Takdah - One can also visit Lamahatta & Peshok (Lovers View Point i.e. Rungit & Teesta Confluence) - While returning through the other way or Kurseong is the other option - Evening free to stroll around the area - Overnight stay at Tinchuley
Day- 04
Departure Transfer to Airport Or Railway Station Or Bus Terminus Or Siliguri - One can stroll to the viewpoint for Sunrise view - Back to Homestay or Resort - Early morning breakfast - There are two option - The first one is to cross Takdah Bazaar next Takdah Club and cross Teesta Valley Tea Estate - Optional route is via Batasia Loop & Kurseong which is longer but one can drive along the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) and is quite fascinating drive - Next through 27th Mile and Teesta Bazaar is on the way next drive further to Airport Or Railway Station Or Siliguri - The road is along the River Teesta - One can stop at Testa Bazaar or Sevoke Railway Crossing for a cup of Tea - Stop at Sevoke Coronation Bridge if Time permits for Photography - The road is scenic and along the River Teesta - Refreshment at Siliguri - Next drop at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus Or Siliguri - Forwarding Journey
