Trek - Today - Tangtey - Todey is a small hamlet / settlement in the Neora Valley region. It is nearly one hours drive from Bindu. Today is situated at an elevation of nearly 1440 meters with dense and evergreen forest cover. There are many options of trekking through Neora Valley but two are quite enjoyable. Today known for its location and for the scenic trek route through Samsing - Bhote Ghar - Thusum - Rechela - Alubari - Lava is quite popular among tourist. It is an unforgettable thrilling experience and the other route start from Samsing and ends at Pedong from Todey via Tangtey. This is a nice trek route approachable either from Pedong near Kalimpong and also from Dooars via Samsing. This trek route passes through the Neora Valley. This is one of the birding regions of the area. There are two trekking seasons in this route. The first one begins in the middle of March and closes around first week of June as soon as monsoon starts. But anytime of the year one can expect an occasional refreshing shower. The flowers in bloom and the wildlife compensate the summer haze. Other season begins around last week of October and goes on till December. The view during this period is excellent but it is quite cold and one may expect snowfall in certain regions. The evergreen forest of golden oak trees offset by the rich undergrowth of moss and lichen provide an ideal setting for trekking or small hikes on thick cushions of russet - brown leaves is refreshing.
